Hello VoteRescuers! This Wednesday, January 30th, is the Producer's
Council election at the Public Access TV Station, and VoteRescue has
volunteered to help monitor this hand-counted paper ballot election. We
need some more help, though! At the last VoteRescue meeting, Russell
Doyle, Mary Krenek, Babs Warren, Lee LeTeff, Karen Renick and I all
volunteered to help out that day. We still need a few more volunteers to
help our friend and VoteRescue member Sue Ann Campbell, who is President
of the Producer's Council, and asked us to help out with monitoring for
the second year in a row. This also helps VoteRescue build its
reputation as a non-partisan election monitoring entity. Sue Ann asked
that we have some people there by 8:30 am, and we'd like to ideally have
two people there throughout the day until they stop the voting at 9:00
pm, then count the ballots, expected to last till approximately 9:30 pm.
There are 13 hours that need to be covered. If we have 2 shifts of 4 1/2
hours apiece, and the third shift of 4 hours - that would do it. We'd
need one volunteer to help check voters in at the front desk/reception
area, and one volunteer to be in the room with the ballot box to assure
the integrity of the ballots and the voting process, so minimum two each
shift, though more would be welcome if available. So the shifts would be
as follows: 8:30 - 1pm 1pm - 5:30 pm 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm Please e-mail
me asap if you think you can help out, and let me know which shift you
could take. The address of the PAC studio is 1143 Northwestern, which is
off Rosewood/E.11th Street area. Thanks so much! Vickie and Karen
