/Below is a message just received from Mark Adams, the Florida attorney,
who has been trying for two weeks now to get at least one of the
presidential candidates to file an injunction in South Carolina to stop
the use of the voting machines that count the votes in secret because
counting votes in secret is //clearly unconstitutional in the state.

* TURNING UP THE HEAT IN SOUTH CAROLINA
*
Election Integrity Activists:

I'm keeping the heat on in South Carolina. Following the links to the
news you’ll find my latest call to action to the Presidential candidates
which were faxed out to them this morning.

I have been contacted by citizens from SC who want to take action, and I
have a SC attorney who will file suit. Of course, we would be much more
likely to get this issue out in front of the public if a candidate
joined in. Naturally, we would also be much more likely to get a judge
who is willing to enforce our Constitutional rights if a candidate is
involved.

So, please help me turn up the heat with some calls, emails, and faxes.
The contact information for the candidates can be found in the comment
to my article on OpEdNews.com titled "What Would Martin Luther King Do?"
The link to it follows below.

Paul Lehto is working on drafting a complaint and an emergency motion
for an injunction, and Paul and I are trying to raise funds to cover the
legal expenses. People can donate to this effort at
www.ProjectVoteCount.com <http://www.projectvotecount.com/> or at
http://www.rollcall4democracy.com/index.htm

We are also working on getting people to join in as plaintiffs. Anyone
can do it because South Carolina’s Presidential primary affects my right
to choose the Presidential candidate of my choice in November. However,
we really need SC registered voters who are eligible and planning to
vote in the Democratic primary on Saturday, January 26, 2008.

If someone wants to join in as a plaintiff, we are asking for a donation
of at least $100 to make sure that we don’t waste time wading through a
bunch of made up names or through people who are not really serious.

Please spread the word about this effort and about our effort to conduct
a citizen’s exit poll in Florida and now also in Texas. For more
information on our exit poll effort, please see www.ProjectVoteCount.com
<http://www.ProjectVoteCount.com>

Please help spread the word about these efforts. Please spread the word
like Paul Revere! It’s time to restore fair and honest elections where
the votes are counted in public, not in secret!

Thank you for joining in the fray when your help can be most effective!

Carpe diem,

Mark A. Adams JD/MBA

Dear Senator Clinton:

Surely, you have heard the reports about problems with voting in South
Carolina, and you have heard about problems with the reliability,
accuracy, and trustworthiness of the computers which are now used to
count our votes all across America. Most Americans have. In fact, a
Zogby poll from August of 2006 shows that 61% have heard about problems
with computer voting machines and 92% are worried about our votes being
counted in secret. Please see my articles published on OpEdNews.com for
more information and for links to the Zogby poll.

Obviously, you have heard these concerns because you have spoken out
saying that you would make sure that our votes are counted. You have
sworn to uphold the Constitution of the United States of America which
has been construed by the U.S. Supreme Court as giving us both the right
to vote and the right to make sure that our votes are counted
accurately. See, /Reynolds v. Sims,/ 377 U.S. 533, 555 (1964).

Of course, you understand that computers count votes in secret.
Computers count inside their case, with no oversight, just like they are
told to do, unless of course, they malfunction or are hacked.

In case you are not aware,* *Article II, § 1 of the Constitution of
South Carolina states,* "the ballots shall not be counted in secret."*
No one can see a computer count, and therefore, computers count in
secret and using computers to count votes in secret violates South
Carolina’s Constitution!

Will you take legal action in South Carolina to require that its
upcoming Presidential primary is conducted in a manner which complies
with the plain language expressed in South Carolina’s Constitution and
with all Americans’ rights to make sure that our votes are counted
accurately? Will you take action, or will you stand by and allow our
votes to be counted in the equivalent of a secret smoky back room?

I will be a guest on the Voice of the Voters radio show tonight at 8:00
PM Eastern. If you do not confirm to me that you will take action before
the show, then I will report that you were called to action, but failed
to respond to the call. Please govern yourself accordingly.
