WOW! VoteRescue and our Coalition, Texans for REAL Elections, had a great
day at the polls yesterday! First of all, many thanks to our wonderful
volunteers: Hector DelToro, Laura Killins, Linda Curtis, Terry Melton,
Whitney Young, Kathy Cox, Mike Kirk, Brian Worsham, Russell Doyle, Scott
Prevratil, and Jim Moran. You all did SUCH a fantastic job, and we are
so grateful for such an enthusastic group of freedom-loving patriots who
spent most and/or all of Election Day working on this exciting monitoring
event! (We were happy to be working at Govalle Elementary where our
VoteRescuer, Lee LeTeff, was working inside as an Election Judge!) And
Abbe Waldman DeLozier joined us later and helped "MAKE IT HAPPEN" with
our press conference, as I will detail further down! For those of you who
worked the Exit Poll at Govalle Elementary, (Hector, Laura, Terry, Linda
C, Scott--and ME) we especially appreciate your patience because the low
turnout there made for a longer day. We know you all got better
acquainted, though! :) Even still, y'all secured an awesome 25%
respondent rate (though only 20 Exit Poll respondents all day, there were
only 79 total voters at that location!) For those of you who worked at
Casis, (Kathy, Karen, Brian, Mary, Mike, Whitney, Jim, and Russell)
thanks for your fast-paced efforts and diligence; having a large crowd of
voters to work with certainly makes things hop, and you succeeded in
securing a fantastic respondent rate of 40% at your location with 164
respondents out of a total of 407 voters (that is an estimated official
number of voters but probably accurate within 2-3). Our Exit Polling did
not show any real anomalies between our results and the official results
for the three Propositions we used for our questionnaire; I think that
based on our high respondent rate alone we can feel fairly confident
that, at least in these precincts, the official results were likely
reported accurately in terms of actual passage (or not) of these three
Propositions. Forgive the way these numbers e-mail over, but maybe Jane
Chamberlain will re-do them in a nice spreadsheet format when she sees
this e-mail (hint, hint!) All I can tell you is, they are lined up as
I'm typing them. (God knows what they'll look like once I press
"send"!) Precinct 256, Casis Elementary: OFFICIAL

7 36.8% WONDERFUL JOB, EVERYONE! We are going to be SO ready
to hit the polls for the Primaries! We look forward to sharing
experiences together at our next regular meeting, which will be TUESDAY,
NOVEMBER 20th (the week of Thanksgiving, but hopefully most of you will
still be in town!) Many of you were discussing yesterday ways to add to
our volunteer ranks and came up with some creative ideas, which we look
forward to delving into further at the next meeting. We may combine
discussion with a new election DVD just out, titled "Uncounted"....STAY
TUNED! Venue TBA, but we hope for Brave New Books! LAST BUT NOT LEAST:
To top off a very exciting day, "Lady Liberty", on leave from New York
City, made a fantastic and historic appearance last night at the Travis
County Election office! We also want to thank all of YOU who came out,
held lights and "Dear Dana" postcards (an impressive 63 feet of them!)
while "Lady Liberty" (whose real initials are "KR") stood on a stool for
added height, waved her torch in one hand and clasped a copy of "HACKED!"
in the other, and gave forth demands that our County Clerk, Dana
DeBeauvoir, eliminate electronic voting once and for all and give the
voters what they demand: a return to safe, hand- counted paper ballot
elections! Perhaps the highlight was when Dana herself came outside to
watch, heard most of Lady Liberty's speech, and was so (in shock?)
(caught off guard?) (flabbergasted?) by our "guerr illa theatre", that
when asked by Ms. Liberty if she had any comment, she simply said, "NO!"
(though she did add, "Thanks for coming, you're welcome to be here" or
some similiar comment.) Thanks to press releases sent out, phone calls
made, and especially coaxing by Mary Krenek and expert on-site media
maneuvering by Abbe Waldman DeLozier, KXAN-TV news showed up and recorded
"Lady Liberty"'s excellent speech AND gave it airplay on the 10 pm news!
We were a very happy group of VoteRescuers indeed as we watched the clip
on TV from the bar of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. All-in-all, a fantastic
night to remember in VoteRescue and Coalition history! SPECIAL THANKS to
TERRY MELTON who not only provided lighting for Ms. Liberty, allowing the
news crew to get good footage, BUT, got great footage himself and JUST
POSTED IN ON YOUTUBE! (Link to follow!) SPECIAL THANKS TO ABBE WALDMAN
DELOZIER, who told me today that the KXAN reporter who was on the scene
last night was not planning to tape us....he was just sent to tape
footage of the activities inside the "counting" room. Contrary to what
we'd thought, the KXAN news producer had NOT sent him out to tape US!
Abbe actually talked us up to him and did such a great sales job that he
couldn't resist, came out front, and got the story! YAY, ABBE! Saving
elections sure can be FUN! I'm attaching some of the many photos I took
last night, and will send a couple of other e-mails with some of the
other ones to keep the files smaller. You are all valuable friends and
members of our team, and WE APPRECIATE YOU!! With gratitude, Vickie (and
Karen!)
