WOULD YOU HELP HAND COUNT PAPER BALLOTS ON ELECTION DAY?
Sept. 10, 2010
VoteRescue and our new partners—LULAC, Gray Panthers and the Travis County Green Party—will continue our petitioning of the Travis County Commissioners Court for a "hybrid election" this November in which voters at the polls on Election Day will have the option of marking a paper ballot or using a machine to vote. We also will be announcing that we are recruiting citizens from all over Travis County to help in a hand counting pilot program called the VoteRescue Hand Count Project that will occur in a limited number of precincts. The total number of precincts where hand counting will occur will depend on the number of volunteers.
If you would be willing to hand count ballots at a polling place in Travis County on Election Day, November 2, PLEASE SIGN UP!
We will contact you in plenty of time if the VoteResuce Handcount Project does take place! (Please note: You must be a resident of Travis County and you will likely be needed in a polling place other than your own between 6:30 pm and 10:00 p.m.)
Thank you for volunteering! For questions, please contact us.
